Account and subscription

Your first 10,000 words need no account. After that, a free account keeps you dictating at no cost, and Pro is a subscription you can manage or cancel whenever you like.

Do you need an account?

Not right away. You can dictate up to 10,000 words on the on-device engine with no account at all. After that, a free account (Apple, Google, or email — no payment info) gets you 10,000 local words every month, at no cost. Pro is the same account, upgraded to a paid subscription that removes the local cap and adds the cloud engine.

The account surface shows your plan and a link to manage billing.

Managing Pro

Pro is offered as a monthly or yearly subscription. When Pro is live, you manage payment and renewal through the billing portal linked from the account section. Switching between monthly and yearly, updating a card, and viewing invoices all happen there.

Beta statusThe account and billing backend is not deployed yet. Current builds show your tier and a disabled upgrade control; live sign-in and checkout arrive with the 1.0 release.

Cancelling

  1. Open Preferences → Account and choose Manage subscription.
  2. In the billing portal, cancel your plan. You keep Pro through the end of the period you already paid for.
  3. After that, Murmurtale simply returns your account to the free tier — 10,000 local words a month. Nothing is deleted.

Cancel anytimeCancelling never touches your work. Your dictations, dictionaries, and settings stay on your Mac, and the on-device engine keeps working. Your words remain yours.
